Dr. Rakesh kumar thakur is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Science (Zoology), Central University of Himachal Pradesh. He has published more than 25 research paper in reputed journal. He has experienced of more than 14 year in teaching and research. He is also a Life time member and active member of various societies like Him Science congress, Himalayan Life Science Society (CUHP), Board of studies Animal Science Central university of Himachal Pradesh, Board of studies Animal Science Central university of Himachal Pradesh, National Bureau of Fish genetic resources Lucknow and Inland fresh water Barrackpore, West Bengal. He is a founder member Himalayan Life Science Society (CUHP). He is also an alumini in Panjab University Chandigarh.
Dr. Thakur has delivered talks related to his research areas on national and international platforms. He has convened/chaired various conferences/ workshops at the National/International level. He has completed one project sponsored by Environment and Forestory UT Chandigarh. Currently, he is working on a project regarding breast cancer. Three students are currently pursuing their Ph.D. under him. In addition, he is interested in research related to Aquatic Biology, Limnology, Bioindicators, Fish Taxonomy, water quality, plankton, Productivity and Diurnal Variation, and Proteomics, Transcriptomics, and Genomics.
